They are the newest technological marvels – efficient, effective and agile: the "small" engines of the Volkswagen group provide economical mobility combined with great agility, especially when they have been additionally strenghtened by ABT POWER. As a result the "thrifty" cars with cubic capacities of 1.2 and 1.4 litres and turbo charging are converted into veritable sports machines. However, they do not lose their economical and ecological benefits: consumption remains unchanged, meaning that the ecological balance still matches that of the basic car, even when "a little bit more" power is provided. The performance is then equal to the engine next in size, while the consumption and costs remain significantly below.

The performance improvement from ABT Sportsline is available for (almost) any vehicle with a 1.2 or 1.4 TSI engine: the spectrum covers the group’s compact cars, i.e. the VW Polo, Audi A1, SEAT Ibiza and Skoda Fabia, through to the Audi A3, VW Golf, SEAT Leon and Skoda Octavia versions, the Skoda Yeti and VW Tiguan SUVs as well as the cool VW Scirocco coupé. As a further example the 1.4 TSI in the Audi A3 or the Skoda Superb is improved from 125 or 122 HP (92 or 90kW) to 160 HP (118 kW). The 1.4 TSI, with a standard output of 180 HP (132 kW), for instance in the Polo GTI or the Ibiza Cupra, becomes particularly sporty: the Bavarian POWER package brings these vehicles up to a dynamic 210 HP (154 kW), which corresponds to the output of a Golf GTI.

It is a matter of fact that all of the engines with ABT POWER technology performance improvements are long-lasting, reliable and fully compatible with everyday use. ABT has, of course, also developed tailor-made performance improvements for other vehicles – such as the economical turbo diesel engine with 1.6 litre cubic capacity.
