BMW Efficient Dynamics was approved for production

According to those who watch closely BMW activity, it appears that the Vision Efficient Dynamics, also named VED, has been approved and along with this approval, several specific details were released.
Its chassis will be carbon-fiber-made and its power will be provided by either a gas hybrid or a fully electric motor. A month ago, rumors were announcing a coupe available with a drivetrain inspired by the Active Hybrid 5 Concept, which in turn received its influence from the Active Hybrid 7 Series. Thus, that option will be perfect for 300 hp due to a TwinPower turbo connected to an eight-speed transmission.
Still, the ultimate hybrid variant will be mainly characterized by a 1.5-liter, three-cylinder motor with 181 hp, connected to a pair of electric motors, each one of them delivering 93 hp.
The carbon fiber used for building the model won’t disappoint and thus it is said to reach 0-62 mph in only four seconds and a consumption of 58 miles per gallon.
As considering the price, voices utter an amount of €125,000 to €175,000.
