Slavche Tanevski creates the Mercedes-Benz electric Taxi

The independent designer Slavche Tanevski has produced a design study for the Mercedes-Benz Nimbus, a project brought to life during his internship at Mercedes’ Exterior Design Studio and it is planned to be a city cab available beginning with the year 2025. On the one hand, this project appeared as a result of the fact that outside of London’s ubiquitous TX4, the purpose-built taxi is almost dead. On the other hand, this taxi was designed in order to represent a tribute to the world’s first motorized taxi, namely the 1897 Daimler Victoria.
Actually, the flowing, almost liquid-like curves of the taxi were inspired from the Victoria’s styling cues.
The Nimbus uses an electric motor mounted at each wheel hub and it is powered by lithium ion batteries which are also placed beneath the floor, thus providing a space enough for three passengers without considering their luggage.
We think that his efforts deserve all appreciation , marking an important stage in the automotive industry.
