Mercedes-Benz builds the CLS Shooting Brake

The CLS Shooting Brake concept has recently been confirmed for production by the officials from Mercedes-Benz after having been shown for the first time at the Auto China in April 2010. Scheduled for its launch on the market in 2012, the sporty-looking shooting brake model will be built at the Mercedes-Benz Plant Sindelfingen and it will be based on the second generation of the CLS sedan. While the details we expected have not been presented yet, we can assume that the Brake model will feature the same lineup of gasoline and diesel engines as the new CLS which had its de but at Paris in October. Cultivated sportiness and a tradition of stylish were the main factors to influence this car model, factors which have always described the Mercedes-Benz Coupes. It is also very likely for the range to include a flagship AMG model powered by a 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with at least 536 hp. Dr. Joachim Schmidt, who represents the Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing from Mercedes-Benz stated to the press that the CLS would be making waves due to its fascinating design, thus expanding their technology in the segment and also planning to extend the success of the CLS Shooting Brake with another appealing model in order to point to the future direction of the car brand.
