The Mitsubishi Lancer-derived Inspira mid-sizer has officially been released by Proton, although a soft launch was made around late October. It appears that the October launching was well received by the public and the 1,800 bookings made by customers around Malaysia represent the proof for this fact. Mitsubishi Japan made a perfect team with PROTON, after a 25-year collaboration, while the mechanical and design basis, together with the former tweaking for the model were provided by the Japanese from Mitsubishi. The changes occurred are featured by the signature Proton grille and the Inspira’s ride and handling which now include a Lotus DNA. The Inspira uses Mitsubishi’s existing 1.8 and 2.0-liter MIVEC engines, the latter being available with the CVT transmission. PROTON seems to be prepared to advance as a recognized and appreciated as well player in the international automotive industry, this is the opinion expressed by the Chairman of proton parent corporation Proton Holdings Berhad, Dato’ Sri Mohd. This project aims to introduce on the car market non-core models through special conceived strategies in order to offer a product that is more efficient, timely and affordable. The Proton Inspira defines and includes the objectives of the project as it was based on the enormous level of interest shown since the new model has been announced, proving an extraordinary approval from customers. It is easy to suppose that the persons who booked the Inspira will not be disappointed. Subscribe to Car news by Email |
