Autonomous Audi TTS at Pikes Peak International Hill Climb

The self-driving Volkswagen Electronics Research Lab and Stanford University-built autonomous Audi TTS has completed a test run at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Ascending 14,110 foot in 27 minutes on tarmac and loose gravel, the Audi TTS reached a top speed of 47 mph from the first try. Normally, a human driver is expected to do the course in about 17 minutes so Audi is considering this a victory.

The car used a combination of new software, algorithms and hardware in order to do this challenging hill trip.
