According to the company executives, the pricing in Europe and the UK is groundbreaking for a carbon chassis-based supercar. The Managing Director of McLaren Automotive stated to the press that a unique carbon chassis used as a foundation and powered by a powerful and extremely efficient McLaren engine, the clients will receive a staggering value from the 12C. Regarding the pricing in other countries, details are to be released at a later date. Among the available performance upgrades, we can name a sports exhaust system, carbon ceramic brake discs, polished-finish calipers, as well as two lightweight forged wheel options, while the customers are also given the possibility to choose from 17 exterior paint finishes, particularly a "McLaren orange", a color that hints to the 1960s and 1970s race cars. 14 interior trims are also offered and the power will be provided by a mid-mounted 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8, delivering 600 HP and 443 lb-ft, developed and built in-house by the McLaren engineers.
