Mitsubishi plans a plug-in hybrid crossover for 2013

The year 2013 will host the launch of a Mitsubishi plug-in crossover, as the head of the company’s electric vehicle unit, Yoshikazu Nakamura, officially announced. Although the details released so far are quite poor, Auto Week informs that the model is to be inspired from the Px-MiEV, which had its debut at the 2009 Tokyo Show. For those who do not know, the Px-MiEV featured 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors that delivered up to 60 kW and 200 Nm of torque. Furthermore, the crossover offers an impressive fuel economy of 2.01/100 km, also being able to travel up on 30 miles on electricity alone.
