Brabus, the German tuning house presented the Widestar package at the Essen Motor Show, available for the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG "Gullwing". The tuning kit includes a front spoiler, a rear apron with a new diffuser, a boot lid spoiler and blistered rear wheel arches with air inlets and outlets. The engineers have seriously tested all the components which are made from carbon fiber and customers have the possibility to choose between a matte or glossy clear-coated finish for the body parts. Or, if they wish for something else, the company can paint them in the body’s color or in a contrasting tone. In collaboration with Bilstein, the German engineers developed a height-adjustable suspension and lowered the ride height by 30 mm in order to complement the SLS’s new look. By simply touching a button, the driver is able to adjust the suspension’s height, thus obtaining a sportier car and even more comfortable than the stock SLS. A proper set of wheels strongly define the Brabus brand and in the case of the Widestar SLS, the customers are offered custom tailored ultra-light 20- and 21-inch front and rear Monoblock F Platinum Edition forged wheels, which appear wrapped around in 275/30 ZR20 and 295/25 ZR21 Yokohama rubber. The weight is also reduced by bigger and lighter new rims, which offer an improved handling, according to the tuner’s official reports. The power will be provided by the same 6.2-liter V8 engine, which received a lighter and high-performance titanium exhaust system with sound management, adding 10 hp. Premium upholstery, made from fine leather and Alcantara is offered by Brabus for the interior.
