2011 Kia Sorrento and 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe were recalled for defective brakes

Rear brake calipers which might not have been properly machined, which according to NHTSA could lead to brake fluid leak and then illuminating the malfunction indicator light which shows the low brake fluid level with a soft or spongy pedal feel, force the Hyundai group to issue a separate call for each of the 2011 Kia Sorrento and 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe. A total number of 7,697 Kia Sorrentos manufactured from September 14, 2010 through October 4, 2010 and 1,783 Hynudai Santa crossovers Fe built from September 28, 2010 through November 25, 2010 will be recalled with the inspection and the replacement, if necessary of the rear calipers, free of charge. The braking power will be considerably reduced if the problem is not taken care of. An owner notification schedule has not been released yet by the two companies.
