Is Lotus planning to build V8 in-house?

The company head from Lotus, Dany Bahar, admitted the possibility of developing their own V8 engine, as a result of their intensified quest to take on Ferrari, without forgetting the fact that the Lotus firm is a well-sorted engineering one. The British carmaker has successfully designed and developed three complete engines for other car manufacturers, with its last V8 engine produced from 1996 through 2004 in the Esprit.
According to Autocar’s suggestions, the engine architecture developed by Lotus will be seen in V8 form in the Esprit and V6 form for the Elan, expected to follow about six months after the Esprit. But we cannot help wondering about the Toyota-sourced powerplants, which we could see in the Lotus Elise, Exige and Evora at the Paris Motor Show, though Bahar stated that the sports car enthusiasts did not imagine Toyota as good enough.
