New vehicles which increasingly target value-conscious consumers are a newly developed passion in China, where Honda presented the debut of a new small sedan at the 2010 China International Automobile Exhibition, whereas Nissan also took the wraps of the 2011 Sunny. Hoda’s new four-model sedan is called the S1 and is aimed to be marketed under the Li Nian brand, being the creation of a Chinese joint venture owned by Honda and the Guangzhou Automobile Group, named Guangqi Honda. By the first look at the car, we can easily judge that it is far less exciting than the production version of the Everus Concept, which made its world debut at the Guangzhou Motor Show in April and it is based on the previous generation Honda City, not the newer model of the car, released in 2008. Unfortunately, Honda is still reluctant in unveiling more details, but they announced the S1 targeted the younger generation in China by adopting an energetic, powerful and outstanding design form. Its engine options will include 1.3-liter and 1.5-liter petrol units and is scheduled to arrive on the market starting with the spring of 2011.
