Kia Picanto is revealed ahead of Geneva salon debut

After releasing two teaser sketches in December, Kia representatives finally published real photos showing the second generation Picanto city car, scheduled to make a spectacular debut at this year’s Geneva Motor Show which will take place in March. According to Peter Schreyer, Kia’s Chief Design Officer, a very prominent rising character line and significant sculpting mainly describe the new Kia Picanto, resulting in a layering of light and shadow, breaking up the height, ensuring the car with a more sure-footed stance. Lacking too many details, we specify that the car has registered an increased length, a longer wheelbase which leads to a more improved interior space. The outgoing is available exclusively as a five-door hatchback, while the new Picanto will be offered to its customers in two body styles, a 5-door and a 3-door, at least in Europe. Depending on local market requirements, the engine range will integrate 1.0 and 1.2-liter gasoline engines, also offering LPG, bi-fuel and flex-fuel variations.
Although Kia has not released an official date concerning the car’s arrival on the European markets, we expect to see it in the second half of the year.
