Renault suspends managers on suspicion of leaking EV secrets

Three senior managers have recently been suspended by the French carmaker Renault as they were suspected of sharing information about the firmís plans regarding electric vehicles. As a spokeswoman from the company stated in a report to the press, unspecified ethical issues have led to the suspension of three individuals in late August 2010, after being previously questioned because of an ethical alert brought to the attention of the compliance committee. The spokeswoman refused to provide more details, but according to some inside sources, the suspended managers were in charge of electric vehicles projects and of them was a member of 30-strong panel of executives headed by chief executive Carlos Ghosn.
Although Renault has not filled a formal complaint, the three individuals were ordered to leave their offices on Monday.
Renault is investing Ä200 million a year in the EV programme and plans to launch four electric-vehicles by the end of 2012, mainly the Fluence EV, Kangoo express EV, Zoe and Twizy.
