Last year, Mercedes unveiled its top range car in the sports sedan family; the 2012 CLS 63 AMG and now, the Stuttgart-based company has released a new set of photos picturing this powerful sedan in various poses.
The CLS 63 AMG has taken under the hood the same new 525 hp 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine with direct-injection as the S 63 and the CL 63 AMG versions, but for the CLS, Mercedes also offers an optional AMG performance kit that can increase the engine's power to more than 557 hp.
As you would expect from such a car, getting from 0 to 100 doesn't take more than 4.4 seconds and the top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h on the standard CLS and 302 on the AMG performance package cars.
Another interesting aspect of this beast is the AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension that has three operating modes: "Comfort", "Sport" and "Sport plus" that can be changed in just a couple of moments. Also, the CLS 63 AMG has optional ceramic brakes and a new body kit that improves the dynamic performances of this, even so, powerful car.
Still, even if we're talking about a high performance car, it seems that the new CLS 63 AMG is not only more powerful than its previous counterpart but also more economical. So the new CLS can go 33% more kilometers and also it has a start/stop engine button that can also contribute to the fuel economy.
