The Autosport International Racing Car Show which took place in Birmingham was a great opportunity for Mikko Hirvonen, the Ford team driver, to lift the covers of the 2011 Fiesta RS World Rally Car. The color scheme is planned to adorn the vehicle in the FIA World Rally Championship, while new information confirms the racing team's new name and logo, competing as the Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team.
Gerard Quinn, Ford of Europe motorsport chief officially stated to the press that the preview version of the car unveiled in September at the 2010 Paris Motor Show was somehow dramatic in its blue and grey livery and was developed by Ford of Europe's design team, specifically for the show, but the present moment brings a fully finished car in a new livery that is eye-catching, together with a new team name, while excitement grows considerably as the opening round in Sweden next month approaches.
Because of the new regulations, the new racing model comes to replace the Focus as the firm's World Rally Championship challenger, featuring a four-wheel drive transmission as well as a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, which found its base on the EcoBoost road vehicle power plant.
At the beginning of February, we will enjoy full specification of the car, but for the time being, the car company is continuing its tests in Sweden ahead of the Fiesta RS WRC's championship debut in Rally Sweden.
