Vauxhall Corsa VXR gets new special edition of 192HP hot hatch

The launch of the subtly refreshed Corsa VXR will be marked by Vauxhall with the introduction of a limited edition which offers its buyers an additional kit and a special blue paintjob as standard. More details of the new Corsa VXR Blue Edition reveal an Arden Blue metallic paint finish, 18-inch alloy wheels, dark-tinted glass, bespoke interior air vents and Recaro seats. Furthermore, the Recaro seats equate to 445 saving when comparing with the cost of speccing a standard VXR with this kit. Uprated brakes, lowered sports suspension together with switchable Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) are to be found among other standard characteristics of the special edition of this hot hatch. Power is provided by a 1.6-liter turbocharged four delivering 192PS, thus reaching a 0-60mph (96km/h) sprint time in no more than 6.8 seconds, as well as a top speed of 140mph (225km/h). If the driver wishes to handle more power, an overboost feature increases maximum torque to 260+Nm.
Its pricing of 19,425 is considered by Vauxhall to undercut important market competitors, such as the Citroen DS3 R and the Mini Cooper Works by up to 3,600.
