Chrysler is planning hybrid minivan for 2013

Sergio Marchionne, Chrysler CEO, has confirmed that a hybrid version of the company's next-generation minivan is scheduled to make its debut in 2013 and will be built at the automakerís Windsor Assembly Plant in Canada. Chrysler is the automaker which can be found at the forefront of the minivan movement back in the 1980s and now it is scarpping one of its two minivan twins by 2013, thus allowing a smaller micro-van to be launched within the next few years, one vehicle which is aimed to be a powerful competitor against Ford C-Max and Mazda5. Concerning the hybrid minivan's powertrain, it will host the same powertrain technology that will be seen in the Chrysler 300 sedan, a gasoline-electric version, planned for launch in 2013.
