New 50 years anniversary Cobra

2012 will mark 50 years since the first Cobra hit the streets and that’s why Shelby announced a 50th Anniversary special edition of the famous American car.
Originally designed in England by AC Cars and later taken and improved by ex racing driver Caroll Shelby, the Cobra wrote its history both on the racing track and on the road being one of the most appreciated cars of its times. Unfortunately the Cobra story went to have a brief ending in 1984 when AC Company closed its gates and the British – American partnership ended.
Later, in the 80’s, Shelby made what was called “continuation cars” that retained the general shape of the original Cobras but were fitted with modern amenities.
Now, after more than 25 years since the last original Shelby Cobra left the manufacturing line, the new 2012 Cobra was launched earlier this day at the famous Barrett-Jackson collector's car auction. The new Cobra has a special "Shelby Black" painting and a full leather interior. Also the new Shelby jewel features new wire rims and special badging markings that celebrate the 50 years anniversary.
The price for such an automotive jewel starts from just under 70.000$ but it can reach 134.995$ for the aluminum bodied car. Quite expensive, but you have to remember that this is a 50 units release and there are enough collectors that will spend these money without hesitation.
