VW Fights for sales supremacy in the USA

While Fiat in taking American cars on the old continent, supplying in the same time, Italian models to the US, Group VW has other plans.
It seems that in the next 7 years, until 2018 that is, Volkswagen intends to triple its sales in the States.
In doing so, the Germans are thinking of bringing back over the Ocean, two more models: a full size luxury sedan and a legend of the American 70's and 80's period.
Yes, your thoughts are correct; we are talking here about the Phaeton and the Scirroco. And while even VW knows that the sales for these two models are not going to reach any new records, the German car manufacturer's officials believe that this measure can still help VW reach its sales target.
The full size luxury sedan (a.k.a. Phaeton) has previously been on sale in the US, but in 2006, VW took it out of the American showrooms because of its poor sales performance. On the other hand, the first two Scirocco generations were close to become legends in the 1970's and 80's. And now, after all this time, VW hopes of a great feedback from the American buyers, especially from the younger customers that could get attracted to the sleek looks of the new Scirroco.
