New R18 super sports car for LeMans

Audi has just finished the last tests on the new R18 model that is expected to make its debut at this year's 24 hours LeMans race and we are here to tell you about it.
Recently, a pair of R18s has been brought to the US Sebring race track in Florida to test both the cars and all the 9 factory drivers that Audi want to use in this year's Le Mans event.
Together with the two new prototypes, Audi has also brought to the States the "old" R15 and all the three cars were extensively tested on the hot Florida race track.
While usually, Audi used in the past years the Sebring 12 hour's race as a last test before the LeMans 24 hour's race, this year, the German car manufacturer has opted to let the R18 make its great debut directly on the French race track at LeMans. But even if this is a surprise for many, Audi's decision is not that strange taking into account the specs of this new race car.
As you might know, the R18 gets its mighty power from a 3.7 liter V6 engine coupled to a six speed gear box and it features a single piece construction carbon fiber monocoque that keeps the car's weight to a minimum while increasing the overall stiffness. Also a nice add-on to the car are the two full LED headlights, kind of a premiere on such a car.
