Mercedes Benz launches its first Super Bowl commercial

Until this year, Mercedes wasn't too interested by the NFL's top game. So the 60 seconds spot that the German car manufacturer has prepared for this year's Super Bowl came both as a surprise and as a premiere. Even so, this is not a random event, as Daimler celebrates in 2011, its 125th anniversary and is preparing several events to mark this occasion.
The commercial itself features a lot of the company's past and present models starting with the first 18xx Daimler 3 wheels first and ending with 2010's finest, each car escaping its owner only to gather together in order to pay an homage to the new generation of Mercedes Benz cars.
Also there are some funny aspects to this commercial as we get to see Puff Daddy acting as a MB owner shocked to see his car leaving without him and moreover, there is a brief episode of where a crash test Mercedes (better said crashed) leaves the testing premises only to head on with the other MB cars.
The spot features a soundtrack bearing the signature of Janis Joplin and in the end we get a brief look at the upcoming C-Class Coupe and the SLS AMG Roadster.
