Alfa Romeo focuses on Giulietta and 2011 MiTo at the Geneva Motor Show

The upcoming Geneva Motor Show will be marked by the unveiling of new models and concept cars by the Fiat Group. Thus, the Swiss salon will host the presentation of the Giulietta compact, which is expected to attract a lot of attention, together with the 2011 MiTo subcompact models and two of each are scheduled to go on display. As far as the rumored sports coupe, which was based on the underpinnings of the KTM X-Bow, is concerned, it seems that Alfa executives are still maintaining the mystery, as the press release did not mention anything related to this aspect. The first model to go on display is represented by the 170HP Giulietta Distinctive, powered by a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, returning 5.2 lt/100 km on the combined cycle, incorporating a Start/Stop system and it is mated to the Alfa TCT dual-clutch automatic transmission. A Sport Pack package comes along with the show car and it offers dark interior, metallic headlight frames, aluminum inserts, seats clad in fabric-leather upholstery, side skirts, as well as 18-inch alloys. Front anti-whiplash headrests, a dual pre-tensioner integrated in front seatbelts, six airbags, VDC with ASR and Hill Holder, together with an Alfa DNA dynamic vehicle control system with a Q2 electronic differential are included in the standard equipment list. The second Giulietta model prepared to go on display is embodied by the Quadrifoglio Verde 1750 TBi featuring a Rosso Competizione paintjob and will mainly comprise a direct-injection and turbocharged 1.8-liter four-pot with 235HP and 340 Nm of peak torque. Incorporating fabric-leather seats, a sporty interior, more powerful brakes and 17-inch rims, while the 18-inch wheels are optional, the Quadrifoglio Verde trim level will be available only with this engine. Both Giulietta models will comprise the Blue&Me TomTom system which provides customers telephone operation, navigation, sound system and a 6.5-inch color touch-screen. Planned to go on sale in April, the 2011 MY MiTo, will be displayed at the Italian automaker's stand and it offers a new choice of interior fabrics and exterior colors, completed by a revised Quadrifoglio version powered by a 170HP four-cylinder engine and an extended list of optional equipment. The more appealing aspect of the 2011 MY MiTo Quadrifoglio is enhanced by chrome mirror housings, headlight/taillight frames, door handles and modified Qaudrifoglio Verde logos.
