First Saab 9-4x rolls assembly line in Mexico

Three months after the compact crossover was unveiled at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show, last November, the first production model of the Saab 9-4x has recently rolled off the assembly line located at General Motors' Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico. Jonsson stated that it was a great day in the history of the carmaker, thus reaching another important step in the fulfillment of their business plan. This product, which is considered by far a distinctive and sporty one, will manage to give access to an important vehicle segment that is continuously growing, especially in the United States, providing at the same time a significantly broadened appeal of the brand. Powered by a 2.8-liter turbocharged V6 engine and finished in an Ice Pearl metallic, a 9-4X Aero model is going to be the first vehicle wearing the chassis number 00001. While its sales are scheduled to begin in Europe and other global markets in August 2011, the new Saab 9-4X will hit the showrooms in May 2011.
