Volkswagen has considered the Golf Cabriolet to be an off-affair ever since the model has been launched at the beginning of the 1980s. The Cabriolet has received another go from the Germans at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, where they have showed to the enthusiast public a new model which finds its base on the 6th generation of the Golf that is going to be sold alongside the firm's Eos hardtop roadster. An electrically operated cloth top replaced the roof, while the changes over the standard Golf hatchback which inspired the Cabriolet, refer to a redesigned rear end together with more swept-back angle of the front windscreen frame along with the necessary structural reinforcements. The European customers will have the possibility of acquiring the new Golf Cabriolet Mk6 powered by a six direct-injection turbocharged diesel as well as gasoline engines which feature a power range of 105 PS up to 210 PS.
