Some recent spy photographs reveal Kia's intentions of releasing an update available for the Soul. The photographs were taken in Germany and one can notice the Soul's stylistic upgrades despite the fact that they were hidden by the bagged-up ends. The exterior mirrors which incorporate the turning lights appear to be the only visible change of the redesigned exterior. Some rumors announce Kia planning to take some cues from the Rio hatchbacks and the new Picanto, such as the more pronounced bumpers and the pulled back headlamps. Both models mentioned previously were admired at the Geneva Motor Show. The interior is also likely to get some considerable improvements. In Europe, Kia is currently available featuring engine choices which comprise a 1.6-liter turbo diesel delivering 126HP and a 1.6-liter petrol which produces 124HP, while the States have it available with two gasoline engines, a 1.6-liter unti which raises an output of 122HP and a 2.0-liter unit producing 142HP. Some sources claim that the standard 1.6-liter gasoline unit is going to be replaced by the Veloster's all-new 1.6-liter four-cylinder integrating direct-injection technology and boasting an output of 138HP and 123 lb.-ft. at 4,850 rpm. Offered in two states of tune, Hyundai-Kia Group's newer 1.7-liter turbo diesel unit is also expected to be launched for Europe. Source: Carscoop Subscribe to Car news by Email |
