Mazda MX-5 Le Mans is announced

Everyone is glad when Mazda gives news about a new development. Now what Mazda is looking for is to emphasize its connection to motorsport and decided to do this by announcing a special edition of the MX-5.
The MX-5 '55 Le Mans name is given by the carmaker to celebrate the 1991 Le Mans victory with the 787B No.55 race car, driven by Johnny Herbert, Volker Weidler and Bertand Gachot. The model is destined for the Swiss market.
This victory meant more than that. It was the first victory for a Japanese car and the rotary powerplant in the unforgiving endurance event.
The MX-5 '55 Le Mans is source of inspiration, but what can it do? The car is powered by a 2.0-liter unit that delivers 160 hp and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. It has a sport suspension supplied by Bilstein, a front strut bar, a limited slip differential (LSD) and a set of 10-spoke lightweight alloy rims, given by the engineers concerned for the car's dynamics.
The vehicle comes in 4 different exterior colors with contrasting stripes on the side of the car so customers can choose.
