BMW i8 was spied sliding on ice

The upcoming 2013 BMW i8 was spied while undergoing winter testing on a frozen lake around the Arctic Circle in Scandinavia. Taking a closer look at the video and at the photographs, we easily notice that the i8 prototype maintains some virtual similarities to the Vision Efficient Dynamics concept vehicle which enthusiasts had plenty of opportunities to see it. Even more, the white camouflage of the "I" sub-brand and the signature sky-blue are attached to the vehicle. The vehicle here sports a third brake light and a slightly altered rear fascia with incorporated diffuser. Ian Robertson, BMW's sales and marketing director, officially announced that they had the great opportunity to produce a ground-breaking performance car and related to the i8 using a petrol engine only, he stated that there was no need to provide a petrol-only model. Priced at around ?150,000, the BMW i8 is scheduled for launch in 2013.
