Kia Motors exported 10 million vehicles

South Korea's first automotive export happened in 1975 when a few Kia Brisa pickups were sent to Qatar and ever since, we had the chance to see new generation models like Picanto, Rio, Sorento, Sportage and Optima.
Kia Motors Corporation celebrated today the fact that they reached an incredible export number of 10 million vehicles. The lucky one was sold today and it's a Snow White Pearl Optima sedan.
March 2005, was the date when half of the cars sold today were delivered and only six years later the 5 million became 10 million. This can only mean that the team had a very good plan, a good strategy and knew exactly what they want to achieve.
Well, today at Pyeongtaek Port in the presence of around 400 guests, took place the official ceremony that marked the shipping milestone.
From the first export, Kia Motors sold 4.27 million cars in North America, where the competition between carmakers is dangerous, 2.45 million in Europe and 0.8 million in the Asia and Pacific area.
The best sold model is the Picanto with 764,453 units shipped, followed by Rio with 747,554 units shipped.
