Volkswagen announced a safety recall of 71,000 2011 Jettas

Volkswagen announced today a safety recall of 71,000 model year Jettas. The cars involved, built between March 2010 and March 2011, will be taken to authorized dealers where anti-theft alarm system and horn will be reconfigured even if so far no accidents were reported because of this conditions.
The price for a new 2011 Jetta is around $16,000 and in the U.S. and Canada there are four engine options, even a 2.0-liter turbodiesel direct injection (TDI) Clean Diesel that produces 140 hp and also common rail injection with 236 lbs-ft. of torque. The other options are the 2.0 that produces 115 hp, the 2.5 with 170 hp and now the 2.0 TSI that produces 200 hp.
The engines will have a manual transmission, but also an automatic transmission will be available as an option.
The car has different features that come as safety measures for the driver and passengers. Some of this features, are an electronic stability control and the "Intelligent Crash Response System" that turns off the fuel pomp, activates the hazard lights and in case of an airbag incident, unlocks the doors.
