The Audi RS4 Avant has recently been spy photographed while it was taking a test run. Taking a look at the pictures, one could see the sporting RS4-like modifications and the fact that the car is based on an Audi S4 Avant. Furthermore, the larger RS wheels from the RS5, incorporating RS logos on the front brakes make the mule to be riding higher than a standard S4. The changing of the front bumper has allowed the larger air intakes to accommodate. The same S4 exhaust can be found at the back, but something really challenging appears to be packed under the hood, but for the time being, the details remain unknown. However, we can speculate that the engine is going to be a tuned-down version of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that is rumored to be under development for the upcoming RS6 and rS7 variants. About 600 PS are expected to power the two models, while the RS4 is likely to receive 450 to 500 PS mark. We have no information regarding the date launch of the RS4, but considering the fact that the RS6 is planned for a 2012 debut, the RS4 may be due to arrive the same year.
