Cadillac wants to give up manual gearboxes

As year pass you see less and less manual gearboxes; they just don't go with the future. The 2012 Cadillac CTS is one of the vehicles that left the past behind.
The model has only a six-speed auto transmission and no manual gearbox. The carmaker decided that it shouldn't have one, not even as option.
The 2012 CTS-V coupe, sedan and wagon were suppose to have manual gearboxes, but because of different rumors saying sales will decrease, the idea was forgotten.
Some of the 2012 models that have as base model the CTS 3.0-liter sedan have as option the manual gearbox. The CTS 3.6-liter V6 has a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 304 horsepower at 6,400 rpm with 273 lb.-ft. of torque at 5,200 rpm. The new model also includes ABS, AWD, StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System and Traction Control System.
The CTS-V has a 6.2-liter V8 gasoline engine that develops 556 horsepower at 6,100 rpm. It has a six-speed manual gearbox, ABS, StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System, Locking Rear and also Traction Control System.
