At the New York Auto Show this year Suzuki presents different variants of the Kizashi model because the fans seemed to enjoy it. Beside the Apex concept that is more appreciated for the race fans, the EcoCharge presents a gas-electric powertrain that is more responsible when it comes to a clean environment. The model has a 2.0-liter inline-four gasoline engine and a 115-volt air-cooled lithium-ion battery that develops a total output of 156 horsepower at 6,500 rpm. The ways the car helps saving energy are regenerative braking, automatic engine shunt-off when the car stops and fuel cut-off during deceleration events. All these have as result a 25 percent improvement in fuel consumption. With the Kizashi EcoCharge Concept the company managed to obtain significant results regarding the fuel consumption. We still don't know if there will be a production version of the EcoCharge, but at how things look so far and the benefits this car brings, who knows what will happen in 2-3 years from now.
