A video of the all-new Astra GTC, together with the first official renderings of the model, presented in a virtual landscape, have been recently revealed by General Motors' Opel division. On June, 7, the car model is expected to be shown, way before its international debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, on September, 15. The three-door version and sharp looking Astra was previewed at last year's Paris Motor Show, delighting the audience as a thinly disguised concept model. The orders will begin in the summer and the first deliveries are expected to come this fall, by both Opel and Vauxhall, in the UK. Except for some visible changes which relate to the rear apron incorporating conventional tail pipes and the design of the lower part of the front bumper housing round fog lamps, thus replacing the thin LED strips, the production model maintains its similarities to the concept study. As far as the engine lineup is concerned, the three-door Astra GTC is going to feature one similar to the five-door model. Thus, buyers are offered a variety of turbocharged diesel and gasoline units. The near future promises a specially tuned chassis and an OPC model which will deliver more than 250 ponies.
