The ranks of the Corvette fans were disturbed by some leaks which have spread the Internet this week, as they are in for a real treat this year, when the generation of the model has inspired so many. More exactly, GM has confirmed those leaked details on Thursday, thus making the entire Corvette base scrambling for money. The lucky ones will have the chance to enjoy the benefits of the performance touch provided by the Centennial Edition, which was based on the 3LZ version. The addition of the new Michelin Cup ZP tires on the Z06, delivering 505HP, and ZR1, producing no more than 638HP, models. Maximum lateral acceleration will be increased by 8 percent, due to the new tires, while the braking distance also gets a considerable improvement. The Performance Traction Management system helps achieving these upgrades, by optimizing traction for more consistent and greater on-track performance. Obtaining a 2 mpg improvement in highway fuel economy, the standard manual transmission for ZR1 featuring taller gearing in fifth and sixth gears, together with a carbon fiber hood, enhance these upgrades. The entire Corvette range will be upgraded at the interior, providing new seat and steering wheel designs. The 2LT trim level will be offered with the Technology Package, thus bringing to life the interior of the model by adding navigation radio, head-up display, Bose premium audio system, a USB port and Bluetooth wireless phone connectivity.
