Good news for Toyota fans. The carmaker presented the first images with the 2012 Yaris. On some markets you can find it under the name of Vitz and its initial specs. The debut will happen next month at the Australian International Motor Show and starting this fall the model will be available for sale.
The changes applied to the model are very visible as the exterior suffered serious modifications. The interior is now bigger and to copy a little the European carmakers the Toyota team offered new headlights, front bumper and grille.
Now, going back to the exterior, the information we have tell us the new Yaris has a 15 mm lowered roof line, the body is 100 mm longer and the wheelbase was increased with 50 mm. All this new dimensions indicate the fact that the 2012 model will have more stability during cornering and for the travelers the car will have more space for the luggage.
The carmaker declared that the model will go on sale with three different engines: a 1.0-liter VVT-i, a 1.33-liter dual VVT-i petrol, both petrol and a 1.4-liter D-4D diesel. To be a complete model, the equipment includes a 6.1-inch display with touch screen technology and Touch & Go multimedia and connectivity system.
