A shadow of mystery was placed on Audi's new top athletes, the S6, S7, S8, and the upcoming RS6, related to their engine block. However, it is known that new coming S1 is expected to produce no more than 200 HP in order to be a strong competitor against the MINIJCW and the Clio RS, but the other levels of performance remain unknown. While most rumors announced a mixture of V8 and V10, the famous German publication, Autobild, solved the mystery of what was hidden under the hoods of these cars. A brand new twin-turbocharged V8 engine is going to make its way into all these beautiful cars in various stages of tune and it represents the result of Audi's collaboration with Bentley. The S6 and S7 are scheduled to make their international debut at the LA Auto Show in November, while the S* will first be admired at this fall's Frankfurt Motor Show. It will feature improved fuel consumption and emissions by 20 percent, being a true Quattro four-wheel drive car with the power delivered through an eight-speed automatic gearbox available as standard. 500 HP will be at its disposal, which represents 50 more HP as compared to the old V10. The S6 and S7 will integrate a new eight-cylinder engine that will deliver an output of 440 HP and 470 Hp respectively, hitting the markets in spring of next year, featuring price tags similar to the models they replace. The RS6 is going to provide a massive 580HP, which makes it even more powerful than its rival, the new BMW M5, which produces 560HP. It is scheduled to arrive next year.
