There have been some reports lately that announce the Volkswagen GTI Edition 35 making the transatlantic voyage to American dealerships, but it appears that the anniversary-edition Golf is not going to make its way in the States. Car and Driver originally made the announcement and has now informed that the U.S. division is not willing to acquire the special edition. For those who do not recall, the Edition 35 is sporting a special front end, interior and wheels together with an extra 25HP under the hood resulting in a total output of 235HP. The German car manufacturer produced the model aiming to celebrate 35 years of the GTI, but the hot hatch icon is only available Stateside for 30. It seems that VW is not preoccupied with the increase of its sales as it creates special editions on its own schedule and an important factor in this issue was that the dropped air dam was deemed too low for American roads. American buyers hope that Volkswagen of America finds a way to offer extra horses for American consumption.
