New MINI JCW Coupe Racer debuts at the 24h of Nurburgring

MINI has recently presented the John Cooper Works Coupe Endurance, also known as the JCW racer, scheduled to make its world debut at the Nurburgring 24 hours at the famous Nordschleife, which is considered to be the most demanding endurance races of the world. This piece of news appears to be quite interesting, as it comes just three days after unveiling the MINI Coupe. Nordschleife represents the place which was christened "the Green Hell", by Jackie Stewart. The JCW racer features a tuned version of the standard four-cylinder, 1.6-liter engine that boosts power up to 250 HP and a maximum speed of 240 km, while the torque reaches 330 Nm. The engine further integrates direct injection together with twin-scroll turbocharger. MINI's go-kart feeling behind the wheel is famous as well as its styling, which the result of the British firm's engineers who added adjustable and stiffened dampers, racing seat, roll cage, HANS system and 6-point seatbelts. The drag is reduced by the Coupe's more raked windscreen, compared to the 3-door version, while increased downforce is reduced by the adjustable rear wing and the rear diffuser of the JCW package. The MINI JCW Coupe Endurance also integrates the Race ABS from the MINI Challenge and electronic stability control, which received a special tuning for the track.
