Last week Mazda released another MX-5 special edition called the Karai which apparently means "sharp". Mazda's European division is the way the model can get to us.
The new model features a retractable hardtop as it's based on the MX-5 Roadster coupe. This is not all. The Karai has a very special body paint called "Metal Green Metallic" and black finish for the exterior mirrors, for the metal top and trim accents like the front grille, fog lamp surrounds, but also the 17-inch multispoke alloy wheels. This is all on the exterior.
If you take a look on the inside you will find that the new special edition features a pair of sport seats trimmed in black leather with white stitching and aluminum pedals.
It has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of producing 160 horsepower. The Japanese carmaker also offers an optional sport package that contains an exhaust system and a unique set of floor mats.
So far we only know Mazda will create 165 units for the German market at the price of EUR 30,000. When it will get on the other markets, we can't say.
