It's a little strange to hear that a rally car is too fast to compete. A petrol-electric Honda Insight hybrid is the car we're talking about. The vehicle has a lot of wins on its list for this season. This car became the best rally car in the world thanks to its petrol-electric hybrid system. All the thanks must go to the Oaktec team from Lancaster, who managed in six years to develop it. The Oaktec Company decided to enter the car in a fuel economy competition. The result: the Honda managed to beat the next best car, by over 17mpg. It also has very low CO2 emissions despite the fact that it uses the same energy necessary to compete in rallies and win. One of the sponsors of the car is Bosch who also gave the car a CVT automatic transmission. The carmaker is a little disappointed because it cannot compete. But in the same time the team is proud of having such a great car to work with.
