We all got a little treat from Opel as the carmaker revealed the 2012 Combo new generation. This light commercial vehicle has as base the Fiat Doblo van. This year the Combo light commercial vehicle received the International Van of the year award. This can mean a lot of things, but the most important of them all is that it will probably be a market success. The 2012 Combo gives you the possibility to choose between 6 types of engines: four diesels, 1 gasoline and 1 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). The diesel versions include a 1.3-liter CDTI and a 1.6-liter CDTI that is able to deliver 66 kW/90 horsepower, a 1.6-liter CDTI version with an output of 77kW/105 horsepower and a 2.0-liter CDTI that is able to deliver 99kW and 135 horsepower. The gasoline version has a 1.6-liter engine that is able to produce 70kW/95 horsepower. Last but not least, the CNG model is able to deliver 88kW and 120 horsepower. The power is sent to the wheels through a 5-speed or a 6-speed transmission and of course it has a Start/Stop technology for decreased fuel consumption on the CNG. The carmaker thought about selling the 2012 Combo in two versions. One of them is a short wheelbase model that has a capacity of 3,800-liter cargo space and the other one is a 4,600-liter cargo space, a long wheelbase model. The dimensions of the car are: 54.4 cm loading height, the two wheelbases have 2,755 mm or 3,105 mm and this means the model has 4.39 m and 4.74 m in length. The height can defer. You can have it with 1.85 m and 2.10 m. The seating also offers three variants: two, three or seven seats. The car features electric windows, airbag for the driver, ABS brakes and a tire repair kit. The price will be announced later. Subscribe to Car news by Email |
