Ferrari continues work on the replacement of 599

Ferrari is currently making considerable efforts in order to develop its next supercar, which is meant to replace the 599 GTB Fiorano, also known as the F152 and after previously launching the 458 Italia and the recent four-seater FF. This replacement is going to boost handling and performance and will reduce the car's weight by making extensive use of composite panels. Some spy photograps have appeared on web pages revealing the test mule of what is thought to be the F152 featuring a modified body shell of the current 599 GTO over a new chassis that seems to share numerous components with the FF. Power will be delivered to the road via an electronic differential on the rear axle together with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Further honed to deliver 700 HP, Ferrari's new 6.3-liter V12 integrating direct-injection technology will be lent to the new four-seat supercar and the FF's all-wheel drive system is not expected to be seen as Ferrari is maintaining the F152 strictly rear-wheel drive. The production version of the Ferrari F152 is likely to be revealed at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, but Maranello kept a certain distance in detailing this matter.
