Jeep brings the 456HP Grand Cherokee SRT8 to Europe

The Grand Cherokee SRT8 is about to make its debut on the European soil and it boasts to be the fastest and most powerful model that Jeep has ever produced. Thus, the car model will be available in Europe in the first quarter of 2012 in a single specification level, integrating a 825-Watt Harman Kardon audio system, steering-wheel mounted paddles, a blind-spot monitoring system, adaptive cruise control, a satellite navigation system as well as a lowered suspension with active damping. This year's Frankfurt Motor Show is going to host Jeep's new models for the 16th IAA on a specially designed 760-square-meter are featuring multiple terrains. The Grand Cherokee SRT8 is able to reach a maximum speed of 255 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds as it is powered by the Chrysler Group's new 6.4-liter Hemi V8 that delivers 465 HP and 630 Nm of torque. Operating on a wider rpm range, the V8 comprises an improved Fuel Saver Technology system, obtaining an improvement of 13 % in highway consumption together with a 720 km maximum driving range.
Replacing the old 3.8 unit in the three- and five-door Wrangler models, the 285 HP 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine will also be presented by Jeep. The V6 will be available to its customers with either a five-speed automatic transmission or, a premiere, a six-speed manual transmission. The Arctic special edition based on the Sahara model, in Bright Silver White color and the new 200 HP 2.8-liter turbo diesel featuring auto stop/start technology, are going to be displayed alongside the petrol edition of the Wrangler.
