The 2012 Exige S was unveiled last night by Lotus. This latest generation offers new interior and exterior, but also a better engine. The 2-seater features a 3.5-liter V6 supercharged engine that has Dual-Variable Valve Timing and direct fuel injection that can deliver 350 PS / 257.5 kW / 345 horsepower at 7000 rpm and 400 Nm / 295 lb ft of torque at 4500 rpm. The model is able to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds from 0 to 160 km/h in 7.9 seconds. The new Exige can reach a top speed of 274 km/h and the CO2 emissions are rated at 199 g/km. The carmaker thought about everything and so it equips the new model with its Dynamic Performance Management system that is actually responsible with the safety and the handling. This system actually includes other systems like Understeeer Recognition, Electronic Brake Distribution, Hydraulic Brake Assist, Anti-lock Braking System, Traction Control System, Electronic Stability Control, Electronic Differential Lock, Corner Brake Control and also Drag Torque Control. The carmaker offers the 2012 Exige S a new aerodynamic package that includes a new front splitter and a back spoiler. For the inside, Lotus offers two kits: Premium that refers to the comfort and the styling options and Premium Sport that improves the conditions in the cabin. The price list for the 2012 Exige S will be made public a little later.
