Good news for the World Rally Championship. Lotus declared that after 30 years of missing all the fun with racing, they are back and this time with the new Exige R-GT. The model has as base the 2012 Exige S that received some racing parts. The Exige R-GT was created especially for the WRC and it was homologated by FIA to participate in a new category series that will happen in San Remo, Tour de Corse and Monte Carlo. The carmaker declared that not only professionals can drive it, but let's be honest, at least a little bit of talent is required. The model weights 1200 kg as it was bonded on aluminum chassis. The Exige R-GT features a 3.5-liter V6 engine like the production version and it's able to deliver 302 horsepower. The power is being sent to the wheels through a 6-speed sequential transmission, specific halfshafts and a limited slip diff. Also the model is equipped with a front and rear double wishbones suspension with adjustable dampers, improved cooling and upgraded brakes with a hydraulic fly-off handbrake. What we still don't know are the names of the drivers who will compete in this great new car.
