A new electric sports car concept was announced yesterday by Gordon Murray Design and Toray Industries Inc and carries the name of Teewave AR.1. The new concept measures 3.975 mm in length, 1.765 mm in width, 1.154 mm in height and has a 2.610 mm wheelbase. The model was created on a carbon fiber monocoque chassis with aluminum sub frames and this way it's very light (850 kg). The Teewave AR.1 features carbon fiber crash structure and body panels, a diffuser and advanced aerodynamics that feature a full length under tray with ground effect. So that the model receives power, Gordon Murray and Toray chose a permanent magnet synchronous motor that was fixed in the middle and connected to a single speed transmission and also a lithium-ion battery. The model can deliver 47 kW and 180 Nm of torque, power that is being sent to the rear wheels. The car will be able to accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in 4.4 seconds and to 100 km/h in 11.4 seconds. The top speed will be somewhere around 147 km/h and will need 6 hours to be recharged completely.
