Audi has ten victories at the well known Le Mans 24 Hours. Now, they want another success at the "Petit Le Mans" at road Atlanta of Georgia. The car they will use is a R18 TDI racecar.
If we look back for a while we can remember that the Audi R8 was, starting 2000 until 2005, a powerful car. After that, the R10 TDI continued its work in Road Atlanta until 2008. The next one was the R15, but it was not a really good call and so Audi decided to return to Road Atlanta with a new R18 TDI. The model features a 3.7-liter V6 diesel engine.
Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich, Audi Motorsport's boss declared that he enjoys Road Atlanta and thinks it's the best circuit for sports prototypes. Of course, the history the carmaker has here counts as well.
The competition will start on October 1st at 11:30 local time and the "Petit Le Mans" will take place on September 30th.
