Kia revealed this year at the New York International Auto Show the 2012 Rio 5-door hatch. Now, the carmaker decided to launch it in the United States. The starting price is $13.600 for the model that features a manual gearbox and this price does not include the $750 destination and handling fee. For the models that feature an automatic transmission the price starts at $15.450 and the SX trim will cost $18.750. All these prices will include $750 destination and handling fee. The new model is offered in three trim levels: LX, EX and SX and the basic model will offer an audio system with USB and Sirius XM satellite ratio, electric power steering and air conditioning. The list continues with some different safety features like Electronic Stability Control, ABS, Hill-start Assist Control and Vehicle Stability Management. The 2012 Rio will feature a 1.6-liter GDI four-cylinder engine that will use either a 6-speed manual transmission to send the power to the wheel or a 6-speed automatic one. The gasoline engine will be able to produce 138 horsepower offering a fuel consumption of 30 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the motorway.
