A price drop was announced by Nissan for the home charging system installation for the pure-electric LEAF hatchback.
The price for the service involving that charging system when it entered the market back in 2010 was of MSRP $2.200. Now, the Japanese carmaker reduced it to $1.818 and this one includes hardware and also installation service, if what you need is a typical home fitting. The charging system of the Nissan LEAF was developed by AeroVironment.
The reason the carmaker had to decrease the price of installation of the above mentioned system is so that more people will have the opportunity to own one. This is what Nissan LEAF marketing and sales strategy, from Nissan North America, Brendan Jones declared.
The charging kit includes 3-year hardware and service warranty plus 24/7, hands-on user training, installation, on-sire map, a UL-listed charging dock, single point-of-contact availability.
We'll just have to wait and see how customers will react to the price drop and if this will really determine them to purchase the Nissan-approved charging package.
